Introduction
The MGate 5135 /5435 gateways are 1- and 4-port industrialEthernet gateways, respectively for Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP and EtherNet/IPnetwork communications. To integrate existing Modbus devices ontoan EtherNet/IP network, use the MGate 5135/5435 gateway as a Modbusclient to collect data and exchange data with the EtherNet/IP host. All models are protected by a rugged and compact metal housing, areDIN-rail mountable, and offer built-in serial isolation. The ruggeddesign is suitable for industrial applications such as factory automation, power, oil and gas, water and wastewater, and other process automationindustries.
Easy Configuration
The MGate 5135/5435 gateways are provided with a webconsole to make configuration easy without having to install an extrautility. In addition, HTTPS encryption of communication ensures highernetwork security. In most data-acquisition applications, configurationof devices with Modbus commands can be time-consuming and increasecosts. The MGate 5135/5435 gateways provide offline configurationvia a CSV file to help complete the Modbus settings quickly. The MGategateways also provide software-configurable pull high/low and terminationresistor settings for RS-485 2-wire to reduce efforts and the needto open the chassis.
Easy Troubleshooting
The MGate 5135/5435 gateways provide a variety of maintenancefunctions to reduce troubleshooting time and cost, including LED indicators, protocol diagnostics, traffic monitor, and tag view. These tools helpyou capture and check data to easily identify the root cause of issues, especially during the installation stage. The MGate gateways alsocome with status monitoring and fault protection functions. The statusmonitoring function notifies a PLC/DCS/SCADA system when a Modbusdevice gets disconnected or does not respond, in which case the processPLC/DCS gets the status of each end device and then issues alarmsto notify operators. The fault protection function executes actionspre-defined by the user when a host gets disconnected to prevent theend devices from going offline for long periods of time..
